Thank you to all who joined us in Dublin and Cork in October for our breakfast briefing on “Keyhouse and the Cloud”. With all the hype around the cloud and fielding client calls on that very subject, we felt it was important to organise a briefing to distil some myths and state some facts about the cloud. It was also a great opportunity to let clients know of our plans for the cloud and to formally launch our new Key Mobile App, which gives clients instant access to their cases on the go, no matter their location. What’s unique about the App is that clients who have an on-premise server can also avail of the App.
We were really pleased with the turnout at both events and also how readily people participated in a poll we ran throughout the seminar. The session got off to a flying start when we set out to distil two myths in relation to the cloud around cost and security.
Starting off, we asked the audience did they perceive the cloud to be cheaper than having a server on premise to which 59% responded they did. Interestingly, at the end having heard the presentation, when asked to rate what they felt were the biggest barriers to moving to the cloud, cost was rated as number.1, followed by broadband capability. This was a positive outcome demonstrating that the content delivered was informative which was one of the core objectives for organising the briefing.
